Comparison amongst Boujois Paris's foundation.

The contenders are....

1. Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Foundation ( 53 Beige Clair)

The price was just under RM60 when I bought it at Watsons last December. In Kuching, there are 2 places I know that had the Bourjois booth. One is at Boulevard and the other at The Spring.

Packaging: The latest packaging involves a glass bottle rather than its former plastic bottle which is not that conveninet for some. Comes with a pump.

Pro's

-lightweight feeling. Just enough to know that there's foundation on your face.
-Doesn't get cakey even after sweating or your face is having a breakout.
-Light to medium coverage.
-easily blends. Use your brush or clean fingers to apply this foundation because the liquid-y content causes it to blend fast.
- Doesn't smudge
- Has a fruit scent that I can bare with

Cons

- It doesn't last until 16 hours. I guess 8 hours is the right estimate.
- Doesn't provide full coverage. Needs to use concealer for blemishes.
- prone to breakouts if one doesn't use a primer.
- Does not have SPF

Usage: During a formal engagement, at work, during winter

2. Bourjois Air Mat (03 Light Beige)

Packaging:

Comes in a plastic slim tube with a proper nuzzle to ooze out the foundation. Convenient for travelling.

Pro's :
- Light weight
- Doesn't look cakey even with the matte finish
- Lasts for up to 6 hours
- Not prone to break outs
- Suitable for those with oily skin

Cons:
- Makes your pores more noticeable as the foundation clings to it.
- Clings to dry patches
- Dries quite fast, I use clean fingers to apply this foundation evenly on my face
-Floral scent that may be unbeareble to some
- Doesnt have SPF

Usage : During summer, definately not during dry spells

3. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (53 Beige)

Packaging :

Comes out in a slim cylindrical plastic bottle. Has its own pump. Soooo convenient since nothing is made out of fragile components.

Pro's:

- Lightweight since the foundation is liquid-y( but not runny)
- Fruity scent
- *i need to stress this once more cuz im a notable klutz* the bottle is not made of glass!
-Easily blended.
-doesn't really smudge
- Doesn't get cakey. one could mistaken them for a mere moisturiser if anything.
- Sounds clichéd but it does give you a natural radiance.
-very recommendable for people with dry skin

Cons:

-Sheer coverage. You cannot rely on one application alone to cover imperfections.
- Lasts to 16 hours. Lol. Nope. 4 hours the least before I retouch. Good for any short outing I have though.

Usage:
During winter or when you're going out for a while to a place that doesn't makes you sweat as if you've just ran a marathon.

Shade info:
~ The healthy mix(HM) foundation has a slightly differing undertone compared to its serum counterpart. On a fair person, the shades of both foundation could appear yellowish to them. On a tanned person, the HM foundation has a pinkish tone to them whereas the HM Serum has a more yellowish tone which is much more suitable. My sister, who has olive skin, works better with the foundation rather than the serum. On a dark person, Beige Fonce might not be enough for some of them as it can make their face look unnaturally fairer than their skin tone. The HM foundation provides more shades and yet the shade selection can vary from store to store. For Bourjois Air Mat, the same previous concepts can be applied. My shade, which is 03 light beige, works fine on my olive skin, but it doesn't fit me well when I decided it was fun to tan myself under the sun. The Air Mat shade however, is said to be on the 'orange-y side".
